happy 86th birthday ahma was on my feet taking photos the whole time

so they kinda hurt (high heels also don't help the cause)

but thank goodness i was in my tallest pair of black heels otherwise

i would have been dwarfed by delly & mei mie in their platform heels haha

no doubt was so cool, the fact that people can sing live acoustic sets

is proof that they can sing (i think) taylor swift kind of sucks at impromptu performances

so does .. victoria beckham (but she's not much of a star) other stars that are simply

brathtaking live include pink and adam levine from maroon 5. caught lobo live once

he was extremely good but i bet you don't know who he is

so after this i have to go home, bathe pack and go to bed

before waking up at 545 to catch my flight to vietnam

recess week is here enjoy yourselves friends!

maybe i'll have wifi in vietnam but there is no photoshop

HELLO EVERYONE! hope you had or are still having a swell valentines day

valentines day this year was super fun woke up abit late packed my rockbuns

into little baggies and rushed off to school, no parking because its valentines day

so i had to park really far away but still wasn't late for class

talked about meritocracy today and how it doesn't really work because

we're becoming more and more capitalistic and veering away from our socialist roots

never got the hang of all the -ists, but i'm slowly starting to remember

there are some words that i ALWAYS have to check up in the dictionary

even though i've checked it up lots of times before, but after a certain point

maybe 6 checks or so you kind of remember it.. one such word used to be.. cognition.

such a chim sounding word with such a simple meaning .. makes it even harder to remember

anyway had lunch with bala's friends, they're all doing their masters

so its quite funny and they're kind of grown up and big and real adults

went over to bala's to play with behbee and to do our homework!

came home and finished eugene's present bathed and left home met chelps

and queued outside ma maison for 1 hour before getting our table food was good

but the service .. left much to be desired, took a trishaw (TRISHAW YAY)

to clarke quay and had a beer (or half a cup accidentally poured the other half on chelps' plate)

came back and NOW I'M HOME!

this has got to be one of the bestest valentines days ever!

chelps, ong eugee, big eugene & i are all that's left of collgyhkee

i highly recommend this program that eugene found, its called xPort and its FREE

and very perfect, even the naming system of the files you have in your ipod stick

and you can just add the entire library of ipod songs back into itunes

salutations! what a rapid fire of posts but a bath does really change things

transfered my entire song library over from thomas (who remembers thomas?)

so i'm very happy listening to songs from 4 years ago loon remember victoria?

anyway, life is good woke up at 12 today, ate breakfast watched CSI and

american idol, they changed the logo i wonder why the old one was so iconic

they also sensationalized one contestant falling off stage thought it was really awful

and you can now sort of guess who's going through depending on the kind

of pre-stories that they do on the contestants, also very sick of sob stories

i know there are tons of people out there who look to american idol as a shining

beacon of hope from their crappy, jobless lives but well the american dream is ..

same with singapore idol, i watched one episode of season three and they played

the ENTIRE story of sylvia ratonel well not entire, just the part that involved crying

i know these struggles are real, but still you have to win votes by .. singing not by

competing on who grew up in the most adverse environment and was able to value add

the most to their lives.. she's done well for herself now with one nice song on radio

there are a few but only this one was not bad ..

confusion

if you don't like someone do you celebrate their birthdays with them? and if you know of like minded people who celebrate their birthdays and hug and embrace them but always complain and moan about their idiosyncrasies and how they'll never change does this make them hypocritical? because if that's the case i'll have no friends because my friends don't seem to follow through with how they feel. I on the other hand am extremely capable of showing how i feel on the inside. (i think, i don't have alot of good traits but one thing i do have is the ability to show people i love that i love them and to show the exact opposite too) why can't things be simple we hang out with people we like and hang out less with the people people we don't.

we're all so old now there's only so much of ourselves we can give away. when will we realize that at this juncture in our lives everyone is roughly there in terms of character and habit development (so you should know if you like someone after meeting them a few times).. or are we? or am i .. too quick a judge of character or .. hmm nevermind. chelps always tells me to mind my own busyness, that i shall do now!

salutations! its one day before chinese new year and its been a lovely evening
woke up at 9 very sorely (sore because i did fart legs the other day) and went to
play touch rugby only i'm not very good at it so its more like .. running around
and blocking people accidentally but it was fun, went for delicious thai food after

ladybird books ah, i loved reading as a kind (except the silly animorph books that nick liked)

i also liked the horrible histories series it makes learning so interesting

all schools should use it! what other books. ohyes roald dahl henry sugar was awesome

some of his short stories that were recently repackaged and republished are kinda disturbing

but you won't know any better as a kid so i guess its all right

hello! its been awhile since i've had time to do nothing
and i do love doing nothing because nothing involves
photoshop and grey's anatomy with 20 minute showers
school has started! today's class was very interesting but
i need to do lots of reading my general knowledge is ..
close to nothing compared to the people in class haha

woke up at 8:20 and made it to school by 9, managed
to .. wash my face but only with water and brush my teeth
not bad, thank god for good traffic i think road accidents are
stupid there's this rule that they shouldn't move till the cops come
to document the scene but i think thats a downright stupid rule
two cars were blocking the ENTIRE sliproad exit from CTE
and there were tons of cars just stuck behind. ok that was quite
an extreme case ..this applies to simple accidents as well
cars should always try to move to the shoulders because there are
SO MANY CARS in the morning..silly drivers and rules.

I HAS NEW TOY!!!

anyway, MY BIRTHDAY is coming & here's a list of things that will be nice

bible (mine is missing! nice carry around leather bound one with no tabs)
dog treats (dog jelly looks so nice but costs $20 a pop)
a planner (the book type to take down notes & homework and plan my year)
stationary (lost my pencil box last year, grace already got me a pencil box, but i need to fill it

that is all and of course a hand written card with a story of how we met, how i changed your life and how we'll always be friends. i have a drawer full of cards since secondary school days, PLENTY of notes written on foolscap paper dotted with hilighter ink and really silly things. but every time i open that drawer (i'll sneeze first, because its dusty) i can't help but smile at all the things we've gone through and how much more life has to throw at us.

ok going to jalan around ang mo kio now, i like lazy saturdays and sorry for being late today chelps and hh, going back to the usual sleep cycle once school starts!

to be or not to be

there is a clump of hair in my shower, I HATE CLUMPS OF HAIR IN MY SHOWER. not to mention a soaked bath mat and facial wash tubes strewn all over the floor coupled with saccharine sorta sweet goosebumps inducing giggles coming from downstairs. i've picked up her hair countless times except from when i'm super grumpy and hope she will pick it up the next morning but no..never always hogging the toilet, pooping with the door open using my dental floss and having the cheek to loudly exclaim t WHERE'S the DENTAL FLOSS? through the toilet door when i packed it for my cruise. i've contributed my fair share of nasty behavior too.. like squeezing the toothpaste ABSOLUTELY dry so she has to go to work without brushing teeth (or settle with mouthwash, ya see..use my mouthwash also) or taking 1 hour showers.

not sure but how i feel is that as a new comer aliciadear should adapt, i shouldn't have to compromise ANYTHING for her i'm used to nick knowing when i'm bathing and i'm also used to using the toilet for 2 hours .. yaknow slowly take my time bathe change moisturize floss wear retainers take up contacts all while watching 2 episodes of grey's anatomy.

she's so troublesome, and not even slightly cute, no value added-ness.. she's simply toiletry diminishing and mood wrecking. i would trade you for 10 puppies, or even 1, wouldn't mind a 5 year old menopausal shar-pei or geez, even a box of mealworms (ok maybe not mealworms are really gross and smelly) point is .. no point peeling crabs for ahma when everything else behind closed doors points to the fact that you really don't give a rat's ass about anything else but yours.

late nights don't go that well with me watched the girl with the dragon tattoo

my whole body aches because the show was intense, creepy and mysterious throughout

and my spine was slumped into the seat for the entire 2.5 hour duration with my

palms covering my face for about 20% of the movie or whenever creepy music played

kept trying to imagine that the creepy music was just an act for some acrobatic show

its R21 but like in a disturbing gross way .. ended the night in geylang so that was

quite cool, never been there at night!

HELLO EVERYBODY! finally caught mission impossible IV which was quite cool, didn't get quite the adrenaline rush when Tom Cruise was rappelling down the Burj Khalifa but i thought that the twist at the end was quite awesome. gotta catch up on this backlog of movies so its Sherlock Holmes next. Eugene also fixed up the PlayOnDVR! Player so we've been having lots of fun watching everything in BluRay.. well that's about it. bidding resumes tomorrow and i think that school is starting too soon. no turning back

hello! spent the new year snoozing on loon's sofa and woke up to
own the boys at taboom, spend the whole afternoon and evening
slicing, dicing marinating and chopping to prepare for our very
sumptuous dinner. met for thai food in the afternoon and ohya woke up
early to go down to boon lay to buy wholesale beef

this year has been so very wonderful with a myriad of ups and downs
even though i may be slightly scared of what is to come i'm mostly
excited and can't wait for the new year to begin, what a mixed year 2012 will be
with half of it spent on studying (for possibly the last time ever!) and the other half
working and engaging in grown-up activity like paying for bills and filing taxes

hello there millionaires I have tons of photos and stories to tell

and I realize how important the opinion of my friends are to me

and I'm kinda over the moon that my mum gave me the go-ahead

on something that I've been thinking about for quite awhile

had a fun day with jiawei as we explored three different hangouts

for food, coffee and more food its quite a luxury to sit by the river

and just drink iced-chocolate for 3 hours with nothing to rush to

caught margin call which was quite interesting, wonder if banks

really operate that way, with special helicopters and fire fighting meetings

held in the wee hours of the morning.

had a WONDERFUL time of HTHT with loonja & ongbak last night

who would have taught poor anti-socially-awkward gerry could ever

achieve that 5 years back, and look! i even have big eugene and we've been

together for 4 years now (short of 15 days). life really does surprise me

but sometimes its not a surprise or a stroke of luck .. sometimes you've just

got to know that .. everything in life is .. somewhat, divine.

my laptop died yesterday so i rushed her into emergency surgery

spent all our vouchers and trudged back to taka to look for my friends

sat down for a really long time at starbucks and laughed alot, walked around

and laughed more .. took a slow drive home and had dinner at famous

followed by the 9pm show that loon and hh follow very closely

played with the TV watched sherlock holmes that i taped last night

sat there and felt like a king in the recliner .. came up and here i am!

dinner today was very fun .. talked about old times, skinny times, lost times

hazy times its been 6 years since i first met loonja and learned to love his

subtle, sarcastic, funny ways. time to create a video slideshow of all our lives

(when i have the time, which is .. mm after i graduate maybe)

we started off with breakfast, pool basketball, fries

lunch, abit of shopping mahjong and furniture moving

i love my friends, but things will be much quieter once

tea with my ma, auntie sui, auntie peggy and eugene yesterday

went to chris' tea house (the one in the news) and it was gorgeous

everything was really nice and ornate! they did however have MANY

signs that said 'please do not study or nap' and 'usage of power socket costs $80 per use'

and 'please do not move the furniture' not sure if its because of the incident that

was reported of if they've always been very 'strict' about everything

nevertheless, food was delicious and tea was really enjoyable

i grew up thinking i'll be great and amazing and go to harvard law school
like elle woods in legally blonde. but as i grow and age, everything
i do, everything i am becomes more limited and painfully normal.
i don't think anyone ever strives to be completely and utterly normal
but we always give ourselves some leeway we have to be special in SOME WAY
don't we? sometimes my mediocrity and unsurprising performance in everything
in life really .. makes me feel sad and normal

i also think that my parents haven't been proud of me in a long time, they're really
really supportive in everything, but ever since primary school i've been just
floating along in my mediocre and average ways .. giving them odd surprises
that always more than often turn into disappointments. HM.

things that make me do feel special, despite the SHEER ordinari-ness of my being

making people laugh (by giving, hugging, make-funning)
being loved by you

sometimes i just can't wrap my head around how i can be loved in all my normal-ness

how you pick me aside to tell me that you have a plan for my seemingly unexceptional life

a plan that isn't haphazard or a jumble of bits that everyone else doesn't want

but instead a plan that was crafted and moulded with love and understanding for me

i may not see things now, but i'm pretty sure i'll figure things out in retrospect
